Nikos Vertis is one of the most successful Greek singers of all time.
He started his musical journey singing in clubs and music stages in his native of Thessaloniki. In the summer 2002, he started singing at the popular club “Rodon” where he made an impact, before heading to Athens to further his music career.
In 2003, Vertis signed with Universal Music Greece and released his first album, titled “Poli Apotoma Vradiazei”. The songs “Asteri Mou”, “An Feigeis”, “San Trelos Se Agapao” and the title track “Poli Apotoma Vradiazei” became radio hits in a short time. The album also included two duets with Peggy Zina, “Eimaste Horia” and “Hanomaste” which were additional radio hits. At the third annual “Arion Awards” in 2003, Vertis won the award for “Best New Artist” and the following year he was awarded “Best Male Laiko Singer” coinciding with the release of his second studio album “Pame Psihi Mou”.
2005 saw the release of his third studio album “Pos Perno Ta Vradia Monos” which went platinum and included the hits “Pes To Mou Ksana”, “Pia Esu”, “Pos Na To Exigiso”, “Den Se Niazei” and “Kapote Tha Deis”.
Nikos Vertis quickly established himself as a dynamic live performer with consecutive residencies in the popular Posidonio venue. His fourth studio album went double platinum in 2008 and was accompanied by a successful world tour of 20 concerts, bringing Nikos to audiences in the USA, Canada, Europe and the UK.
More platinum selling studio albums followed as well as worldwide collaborations like the song “Si on n’aime qu’une fois” with French singer Amir. In 2015 Nikos Vertis signed a contract with Heaven Music and in 2021 the song “S’ Agapao” was released which quickly became the undisputed song of the summer amassing 45 million views on YouTube and remaining at the top of the radio charts. In the summer of 2023 Nikos Vertis celebrated 20 years in music with a string of sold-out anniversary shows, while his now iconic residency show Yton in Athens opened for another winter season in November of the same year.
Nikos Vertis is currently working on his next studio album and remains a leading figure in Greek music, with the biggest independent YouTube channel of any Greek artist (almost 1 million subscribers), and the total number of views reaching 1 billion. He is the first Greek artist to have a music video surpass 100 million views with “An Ise Asteri” a feat that was exceeded when “Thelo Na Me Niosis” broke the record with 200 million views. He has performed to audiences of 300,000 around the world, with sold-out shows in iconic international venues such as Wembley, Kodak Theater, Mirage Las Vegas and many more.
