Sofia Arvaniti was born in 1968. At age 10 she begun elocution lessons and made her first stage appearance when she was seventeen years old.
She started working with fellow singer and composer Mihalis Rakintzis and in 1990 released the iconic platinum album “Min Mou Milas Gia Kalokairia” which included the title track, a timeless pop hit which became a summer anthem.
In 1992 she collaborated with Bonnie Tyler on the song “The desert is in your heart” which became an international success while the studio album “Parafora” went platinum. A series of albums followed which saw Sofia experimenting with laika sounds and collaborating with other notable Greek singers.
In 2000 she once again worked with Mihalis Rakintzison the record “Simptomatika” which also included a hit duet titled “Emis I Dio”. More albums and singles have since followed as well successful live shows in Greece and abroad.
In her illustrious career spanning more than four decades Sofia has worked with all the leading artists in the Greek music scene such as Anna Vissi, Andreas Bonatsos, Nikos Karvelas, Kostas Haritodiplomenos, Vasilis Karas, Notis Sfakianakis and many more.
